GTAA Passenger Information Zone at Pearson

If you have travelled from Terminal 1 at Pearson International Airport, no doubt you have been greeted by the friendly and organic passenger information zone desks, kiosks, and the giant flower sculpture. Surrounding the functionality of screens with information and staff to help passengers, the design and materiality of the kiosks bring warmth and hint of comfort to the travelers where it helps reduce the stress of traveling indeed!
On the technical side, the back-lit solid surface flower petals and curved LCD screens are pretty impressive. Along with the flower is the circular information desk, it has a curved steel frame to support 2 large cantilevered ends with a double curved sold surface skin. This shows off Eventscape's outstanding capability to engineer and build designs that can achieve the designers vision!
Take a close look next time when you are at Pearson!
#Toronto Style Digital Interactive Sculpture
Were any of you fashion hounds stopped in the tracks by this beacon of #TorontoStyle in the Eaton Centre?
Cadillac Fairview launched a marketing campaign at CF Toronto Eaton Centre. Designed by the global design collective, Traffik, the main feature of the campaign is an interactive digital display sculpture with an integrated camera that customers can use to take photos of themselves. Their image then appears on a digital screen and can be shared on social media. This exciting and attractive interactive sculpture is engineered, fabricated, and installed by Eventscape.
Everyone who walked by the sculpture were drawn to it and eager to leave a mark - taking part in Toronto Style collective!

Newswire office interior
figure3 designed this newswire's office located at one of the top floors of WaterPark Place. The reception area features a copper screen that wraps as a floating ceiling into the divider screen between the board room and the reception desk. The design draws inspiration from the ticker tape which were used to carry digital messages prior to computers. Eventscape helped turn this vision into the impressively warm and organic element that envelops visitors as they enter the space. Being on such a high floor facing the lake grants breathtaking views inside the alluring board room where one is always inspired by our beautiful waterfront off in the distance. Custom designed environmental graphics were used to inspire and communicate the corporate value.
behind the glass - toronto design offsite
Behind the Glass - presented by figure3 and Haworth, is part of the Toronto Design Offsite Festival 2015. I had the honour and pleasure to be part of the design team for the ideation and installation of this fun project. Come see it this week if you are in Toronto.
Psychic spy - our window seat installation where random thoughts are generated when you sit down in them. Kudos go to Blair Kelly who is the technical whiz that provided hardware and programming solution to make this such a fun interactive installation!
downtown markham presentation centre
The presentation centre for Downtown Markham is designed by figure3 and features a swooping, nest-like structure that envelops the main entrance from exterior into an interior portal with immersive projection content. Inside the showroom, dark reflective glass panels divide casual, intimate lounges where clients can have a relaxed session while learning about the project with the salesperson. The main space features cafe settings and a large natural wood table with iPads where clients can explore on their own. In the high space above the lounges, images are projected to create dynamic messaging. Eventscape produced a really cool video showcasing the elements they engineered and constructed.
